Happy Birthday to Me!

Happy Birthday, too, of course, to brother Archie (thanks for the card, Arch') and Sister Ellie. Nice picture of a dog - looks a bit like the "H". First-Dad tried to get me to write "Archie Parchy Poo-Pah, Dinky dog, Baby-Boy darlin' " on Archie's card because that's apparently what First-Mum calls him, but I wouldn't be that cruel to someone on their Birthday!

These here are, roughly in order, me licking my chops after the raw-pork-rib-fest that accompanies Birthdays round here. Next up, with a rib in bed, where I always sneak off with them to, to eat them in private (and there's my card). Then one of me unable to beleive that the tray is empty, and finally trying a "Monarch of the Glen" pose on top of the compost heap. Yes, standing in a pile of the dead flowers left from Mum's Birthday bouquets. Her cards have also been swept from the mantle by the Angel Betty. Move over Mum - my turn now! This is all about ME (and Arch and Ellie of course, but mainly ME)

Now... where's dessert? Just fancy some jelly and ice cream.

A "Delicate Flower"

Those of a sensitive disposition or anyone about to eat supper, please avoid this posting!

For all that I am known to be a feisty so-and-so, very full of my own opinions and importance, Mum and Dad are exasperated with my guts seeming to be sooooo sensitive to anything other than straight tinned (Butchers Tripe meatloaf) dog food.

Unpredictably, I will suddenly go right off my food, ignoring bowls of the normal food, and toying with the dried-meat dog-sweets (they get called "sweeties" in this house) that I normally take the humans fingers off to get at. This reluctance is followed by a few bowels-turned-to-water motions (just dark liquid and grass!). 24 hours later I'm back, sorted and ravenous.

Megan and Haggis are, by comparison, tough as old boots, and seem to be able to eat anything, so the family dog menu has always included raw pork ribs for treats, or the spine cut out when spatch-cocking a raw chicken, any rabbit or hare bones (avoiding the long limb bones), and even at times chicken bone-ends - the cartilege-y bits cut off the shafts with secateurs, plus of course any big-animal (sheep, cow) bones we can get from the butcher.

These episodes of poorly guts happen about every 2 months, and because they do not seem to follow a pattern, Mum and Dad have been a bit zealous in cutting out these extra foods, thinking that maybe it was that chicken? Maybe it was the ribs? Safer to not give anything. But because it's not fair to me to let M+H have them when I can't, all three of us have had to do without, and no end of potential dog-treats have gone in the bin.

Dad has now decided that I should become an experimental dog. He's had me "stabilised" on the Butchers tripe for a good while now, and he's going to gently re-introduce the extra's one by one, with "boring" gaps in between, to see if I get belly ache. This way "we" might be able to get back into treats for M+H without the squitty-bum effect on me. Of couse, I love the treats, so I'm up for this too.

I'll let you know how we get on. First up - one raw pork rib.....

Party Girl!

Happy Birthday to me! 2 years old today. "Birthday cake" as ever, is raw pork ribs, so here am I graciously and gently (yeah?) accepting one from Dad, and one of me doing it some serious damage in my (rather scuzzy) dogbed.

As well as rib(s) - I suspect there may have been 7 in the pack so that Megan, who eats faster than the other 2 of us, may have scored 3 while we only got 2 - I further suspect that these were pork even though Dad says that Mum, who is currently on Poros Island (Greece), sent them over and that they were Greek goat - we got one tin of good old Butchers Tripe to fill any gaps.

It was three very bloated doggies who tried to make it to the Rec for a walk, but, to be honest, none of us were really up for it. We had a half hearted run around with Gigot, Truffles and Storm, and the Ben, but if the truth were told we all just need a lie down, so we hope the TV's good tonight, so that Dad will collapse in the sofa. Then we can all lean on him and gonk out.

I got a birthday card, too, from Bro' Archie, real Mum (Mollie), real Dad (Hector) and the folks

Happy Birthday to meeeeeeeee.... and of course, litter-mates Bro' Archie and Sis' Ellie

Happy 12th, Meggie!

Happy Birthday Megan - 12 today!! Here is a pic of her, eating her birthday cake! It might look a little to you like a raw pork rib from Sainsbury's but let's not split hairs. Naturally we all got a couple (although Haggis is so slow eating his I suspect he may have had 1 and a half, to Meg's 2 and a half, but he can't count, so (Dad) your secret's safe with me!

We also had, treat of treats, another bluebell walk but this time with 6 of us - bro Archie, Mum (Mollie) and Dad (Hector). Dad had actually tried to get Ellie-Bez but her Mum was working

Pics of all that, and more, when I have time!

Happy Birthday, the Megster
